Our objective is to ensure that riders have an opportunity to develop and learn new skills whilst having fun along the way! We will build up their confidence gradually by working on the core fundamental skills needed to stay safe while out on the trails. We will teach them how to hit that jump they have always wanted to give a go but haven’t really had the skills or confidence to do so in a safe traffic free environment.
Riders will be coached by DBS checked British Cycling qualified coaches and guides who have a vast range of skills and knowledge to keep your children safe leaving you free to ride our trails or sit in our café with a fresh coffee and cake whilst you watch your children’s skills improve.
You will be required to sign in at the Bike Park reception where you will be introduced to the coaches. The session will consist of a brief safety check, rider assessment on the trails and core skills development. During the session you can expect professional coaching in various techniques such as:
A well-maintained Mountain bike with two fully functional brakes. This does not need to be a high-end bike however it will need to be a good quality mountain bike suitable for the terrain in the park and in good working order.
Age: 6-12 years
Maximum limit: 12 per group
Beginner session: 09:30-11:30 Fridays (School Holidays)
Intermediate session: 14:00-16:00 Fridays (School Holidays)
Duration: 2 hours
New to mountain biking and preferably have experience of riding green graded trails. Children must be able to ride their bike unassisted and stop using both brakes in a safe and controlled manner.
Must be able to ride on their own with no support, they can control the bike at speed and stop confidently using both brakes effectively. Riders must be confident in riding blue graded trails.
